SB 3

(Leno) Floor: 23-15-2

Although we have shifted to a $10 an hour minimum wage, the cost of living throughout California is incredibly high, with Los Angeles and San Francisco having the highest costs of living in the country. People simply cannot provide for their families on the current minimum wage. Increasing the minimum wage is the key to providing workers a livable wage. SB3 increases the minimum wage to $11/hour and moves it to $13/hour in July 2017. SB3 paves the way to establish a $15/hour minimum wage by 2020.
