Represents: Stockton, Tracy, and special interest groups
Supports: Dumping a $2 million equipment and software investment into the Stockton Police Department
Opposes: Humanizing and reforming the probationary periods for justice-involved minors
Shameful Vote: Villapudua calls himself a ‘blue-collar democrat,’ but he’d have to bother with casting a vote to be aligned to a party designation. This session, just like last, he took no position at all on well over half of the bills evaluated for our scorecard.
What were they thinking?: Villapudua used the war in Ukraine as a springboard for renewing his advocacy for increased oil drilling across the state, all while avoiding votes on AB2840 and SB260 which aimed to reduce fossil fuels and emissions pollution. As one of the top recipients of oil and gas donations in the Assembly, it’s fair to say that big money lobbyists are getting a better return on investment than his voters.
