After earning an Honorable Mention in the 2023 Courage Score, Asm. Damon Connolly ends his first term in the Assembly with the All-Star distinction. A former Board of Education member and City Councilman, Asm. Connolly provided affirmative votes across a range of equity bills this session, including legislation to increase housing availability by prohibiting the sale of multiple new construction homes to investors, prohibiting the use of preferential admission standards in higher education, and expanding access to broadband. With a wealth of past experience as an attorney prosecuting environmental protection cases and a Marin County Supervisor, he also co-authored AB 1864, which strengthens reporting requirements for pesticides used within a quarter mile of a school site, and is currently serving as Chair of the committee on Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials. In leveraging his long background in public service and legal expertise, Asm. Connolly has found his stride as a legislator and is well-positioned to grow his leadership and impact in the Assembly.
