- Although she’s been fighting her own small claims and defamation lawsuits over the last few years, Asm. Soria hasn’t shown much compassion for fellow Californians impacted by the legal system. This session, she failed to cast a vote on AB 2441 to reduce juvenile justice involvement by removing the requirement that schools report disruptive behavior or drug possession to police. A bad vote for local youth, but a great deal for her law enforcement donors.
- Asm. Soria has a track record of not voting on critical legislation, and this session was no different than the last. This year, she failed to vote on 35 of the bills evaluated for this scorecard, but reserved her No votes for just three pieces of legislation – once on a gun safety bill, once on a bail reform bill, and once on AB 2079, which required that groundwater enforcement agencies adhere to a 30-day exploratory window before approving the construction of high capacity wells. It’s hard to imagine that the good people of AD-27 don’t have an interest in this kind of reform legislation, but we’re pretty sure Asm. Soria considers her real audience to be the big money interests funding her political career.
