A frequent recipient of the All-Star designation during her time in the State Assembly, Asm. Laura Friedman closed her career in the California legislature with a well-deserved Honorable Mention. In a strong display, she authored or co-authored an impressive twelve bills evaluated for this year’s scorecard, with legislation spanning a variety of topics including housing policy, climate protections, worker rights, and criminal justice. During her eight year tenure, she has brought millions of dollars back to her district to support infrastructure and transportation projects, and has shown a consistent capacity for pursuing consensus. Former Assistant Speaker pro Tempore and Chair of several committees, Friedman will use her policy expertise and progressive leadership to continue to benefit Californians as a newly sworn-in member of the 119th Congress.
